NEW BLOG ADDRESS

I know this looks a little crazy, but we have created a new blog address.... this one would not let us change the email address associated with it (to my new email - the one I check all the time).  Sorry for the hassle- just make sure to add our new address link in your favorites (especially if you want to see honeymoon and wedding pictures we have)!

NEW BLOG: http://brianandkristinbeam.blogspot.com

(see, not too different!)

THANK YOU!!!

Brian and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who made it out to the wedding! We thought it was absolutely perfect and everything we imagined it would be! We had an incredible time and so much fun with everyone! The only bad part was not being able to spend more time with everyone that made it out. We hope you all had a great time visiting CO and come see us again soon!

PS... we'll be posting pictures from Tahiti and links to our wedding photos when they come in

Vail Weather

Just wanted to remind everyone of typical summer weather in Vail!

Average High: ranges from 70-80 degrees
Average Low: ranges from 35-45 degrees

*the weather is much cooler at night in the mountains... don't forget to bring a light jacket or sweatshirt and a pair of pants. Afternoon rain showers are also very common so you might also want to pack an umbrella or rain jacket!

*If you plan on hiking or doing any outdoor activity during the day do not forget sunscreen!

Contact Us

(Steamboat Springs, Fish Creek Falls- Right before he proposed!)

Please don't hesitate to call or email if you have any questions! We hope you can make it and can't wait to see you there!!

Things to do in Vail

(Hiking in Beaver Creek, CO. Sept. 2008)

*You can park for free in the public parking garages in the Vail Village & Lionshead all summer long. If you are exploring the village or riding up the gondola to check out the mountain we recommend parking here, or taking the shuttle from your hotel. (Vail has a great shuttle system that goes all over town!)

*Make sure to ride the Gondola up to the top of Vail mountain! There are a ton of hiking trails (ranging from very short & easy to difficult), bike trails, a restaurant that they grill out at, and beer tents. By far the BEST view of the Vail valley, and we're told a great place to hang out with a beer and watch the sun set.

*We will probably try to orgainze a group trip up the Gondola on Saturday morning/afternoon. Please email or call us and let us know if you are interested in coming up with us! Normal pricing is $20/adult but we can get a group discount if there are more than 15 people in our party.

*If you want to hang out at the top of the mountain, but do not care to hike around or bike, the Gondola is FREE after 4 pm.

*Brian and I have also done a great hike called "Booth Creek Trail". It is just east of the main village off I-70. It is ~2 miles each way- has great views and takes you to the 60' Booth Creek Falls. We would say it is a moderate difficulty level (but we saw elderly, kids, and everyone in between on the trail), so no one should have a hard time doing it if you want. It will probably take you 2-3 hrs total depending on how fast you go. (also check the hiking links below)

*Must have brochures/maps (you can get these at any hotel and all over the village):
-Vail Dining Guide
-Vail Mountain Summer Trail Map
-Vail Walking Map
-Whattodo (also has some coupons for local restaurants and activities)

*Restaurants
You can't go wrong with any restaurant in Vail but here are some we've tried or heard were amazing...
-Westside Cafe (in the Holiday Inn): Great breakfast! Sit down, or you can grab something quick to go (bagels, smoothies, breakfast sandwhiches, coffee, yogurt parfait's)
-Bully Ranch
-
Marketplace on Meadow Dr.
-Ore House
-Pazzo's Pizza
-Montauk Seafood Grill
-
Vendetta's
-Blue Moose Pizza
-Cucina Rustica
-Up the Creek
